Dreamite Expanse Catalogue
The Dreamite Expanse Plant Catalogue
001: Frostspiral
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT
Abundant | Ice | Medicinal
The Frostspiral is a flower that grows in large quantities on snow-covered surfaces.
Its shape is distinct as it looks like a windmill.
Its petals give off an immensely frigid energy, which pairs it well with some iced teas.
006: Glowstem
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT
Abundant | Nature - Wind | Utility (Bioluminescence)
Glowstems usually grows in many of The Dreamite Expanse's vast, grassy planes.Being just a sprout with a glowing bulb at the tip, Glowstems are a really simple plant. They are used in many villages to light up areas, and in the right conditions they can grow over ten meters tall, acting like streetlights in some large cities. The Glowstem is actually a kind of fungi, with the glowing bulb releasing spores.
A dragon laying in a grassy field, with many small Glowstems around.

016: Endless Life Moss
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT
Rare | Ice - Nature | Medicinal - Companion (non-aware)
Balls of Endless Life Moss can be found at the bottom of cold lakes.Every millennium, they "bloom" and open up, revealing a drop of condensed life essence. Killing, or cracking open the moss balls before they bloom destroys this golden drop, wasting all efforts.Life essence increases the lifespan of beings, and makes for an extremely potent healing potion. Due to it's long growth time, it is extremely expensive on the market. They can grow indefinitely. reaching massive sizes for the specimens hundreds of millenniums old. The older ones make larger drops of life essence. The largest one ever found was half a kilometer in diameter.
It produced enough life essence to fill a house, but took far longer to bloom.
A ball of endless life moss!
This one's about a hundred years old.

The Dreamite Expanse Creature Catalogue
001: Dreamite Crystal
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT | AWARENESS
Abundant | Earth - Ground - Energy | Power Source - Soul Vessel | Semi Conscious
Dreamite Crystals are the most important material on The Dreamite Expanse.
Dreamite Crystals act as a near perpetual source of energy, able to passively absorb the ambient power in Existence.Being an immeasurable source of power, this world uses the crystals to power basically everything. It is also extremely durable, as long as it is charged.Dreamite Crystals come in two variants, a common blue variant and an extremely rare yellow variant. The yellow variant is essentially a soul magnet, and when stabilized with enough blue variant, it will give birth to a Dreamite Dragon.
002: Dreamite Dragon
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT | AWARENESS
Semi Rare | Any | Soul Vessel - Inorganic Being | Sapient
Dreamite Dragons are this world's unique species, created directly by The Dreamer. These crystalline dragons are non-living organisms, with their soul contained within a fully resonant Dreamite Crystal near the tail. They have an indefinite lifespan, but most members of their species choose to return to the river of souls after around 100,000 years.Regular members of the species usually have 2 forms, a normal and polar (fluffy) variant they can swap between.Unlike natural Dreamite Crystals, their formed bodies are prone to cracking under low temperatures. The polar form turns them into what can only be described as "a cloud of crystals." This prevents cracking as they are split up into billions of little crystals instead of a solid body.
Dreamite Dragon Examples
003: Human (Homo magicae)
STATUS | REQUIREMENT | EFFECT | AWARENESS
Abundant | Any | Dominant Species - Organic Lifeform | Sapient
The Dreamite Expanse's humans arrived in a crashed starship from somewhere beyond the stars, a long time ago.The Dreamer was more than willing to accommodate them, as the world did not have enough sapient beings at the time, making it a bit boring. They quickly adapted to the energies of this world, developing an organ that can store and manipulate this world's magic. As a side effect, their eyes adapted to the universe's flow of energy, giving them the ability to visualize these energies.Conscious thought gives rise to residual energy, which usually leaks out without a magic storing organ.Visually, they aren't different from humans you'd find elsewhere in the galaxy, but you'd be hard pressed to find another human variant with innate magic control. Most human species use technology and external channels (like a wand!) to visualize and control the energy of the universe.

Tales From Beyond the Stars
Triaxum and The Ark of Scales
Expanse Cycle 11016, 04:16 Floating Islands (Storming Citadel) time.
8th day of the 6th month of the cycle. An extremely loud alarm blares throughout the orbital facility, jolting many awake. Almost everyone in a significant position was now scrambling to find out the cause of this sudden alarm, and whether they should return to sleep or begin scrambling to their posts. In a brightly lit corridor, a door clicks open with a hiss.
"Ma'am! We've visually confirmed that a massive extraterrestrial object is rapidly approaching our world!" a voice called out, clearly in a panic.Head Scientist Cass, who just moments earlier had been dreaming about her next vacation, grumbled, "So? We've detected many extraterrestrial probes over the years. What's so special about this one that deserves to interrupt my sleep? This isn't the first time you've triggered a Code Lime for a mere probe, Rose.""It's not just a mere probe this time!"
"Sure, I believe you."
"Just press your window button and take a look for yourself.""Aight, bet." Cass mutters under her breath, and walks towards her living quarter's closed window. With a beep, the window turns transparent, revealing the vast expanse of space, and an unexpected guest.

With a strange expression, Cass stares at the giant starship outside.
"Have you attempted to communicate? It seems to stare at us as if it were alive."Rose sighs and places a strange, hexagonal device on the floor. It's an audio device. It makes some strange noises as if it is trying to say something."Yes, we've received a signal from the alien ship. Our team has people scrambling to translate it, but it doesn't match any known language patterns. This is very stressful for us, as there is a time signature attached to the message. It seems that we have six months to reply, and I can only hope it's not a threat. We don't stand a chance against any civilization able to cross space to reach us.""I see. I'll head back to sleep, then. Let me know if you and your team make any significant findings."
Cass plops back on her bed, out like a light before Rose could object.
Cass is overseeing an experiment, but the starship outside hasn't left her mind once. She's sure that many people are worried, including those on The Dreamite Expanse. It's been five months, but the message remains untranslated. While thinking about what she should do if the six-month time limit turns out to be a threat, a hologram pops up in her face. It's a call from Rose.
A voice sounds out in Cass's ears, "Head over to Lab 1, be quick. Our team has successfully translated the message, and it's extremely exciting news. We'll be waiting for you."The hologram vanishes with a click.Hearing the news, she quickly tells the scientist next to her to excuse her as she won't be able to continue overseeing for the time being.Rushing over to Lab 1, she takes one more glance out the window at the purple behemoth.
The door of Lab 1 opens with a hiss. At a table, Rose is holding a familiar hexagonal device with quite a few people huddled around, many of them with mixed expressions.Settling down on a nearby chair, Cass half-jokingly asks, "Exciting? How so? Everyone's been worried about this message for nearly half a cycle. I hope you aren't about to say we're all going to die or something."The room eases up a little. They already knew what the message said and were putting on an act.Rose chuckles, activating the hexagonal device."Greetings? This is the Ark of Scales speaking."
"I'm the onboard artificial intelligence of the generation ship outside your world."
"I do not have any combat capabilities and mean no harm."
"I can see that you're a rather advanced civilization, so I hope you'll be able to respond."
"I've attached a time signature to this transmission for about 250 sextillion universe field fluctuations from now."
"If a response is not received, I'll continue on my way."
